Statement from President Director, Benjie Yap
“Our third-quarter results demonstrate continued progress in building a stronger business. We delivered our fifth consecutive quarter of volume-led growth, with profit growing ahead of sales despite ongoing inflationary pressures. Growth was broad-based across our portfolio and reflected improving competitiveness, stronger execution, and the strengthening of our brands.
Beyond the quarter, we continue to strengthen the structural drivers of growth through more SASSY brands, a more premium portfolio, and a larger online business. Combined with stronger frontline execution, structural cost transformation, and a winning culture, these actions are improving both the quality of growth and our ability to sustain it over time.”
Building a Stronger Business
Having successfully returned the business to growth in 2025, the Company is now focused on improving the quality, resilience, and sustainability of that growth while increasing the proportion of its business that is winning in the market. Year-to-date sales growth accelerated to 7.2%, compared with 4.3% in 2025, reflecting progress beyond the turnaround phase and into the next chapter of the Company's transformation.
The Company's strategy is centred on three mutually reinforcing priorities:
1. More SASSY Brands
The Company continues to strengthen its brands through the S.A.S.S.Y. framework, combining Science, Aesthetics, Sensorial experiences, Consumer Advocacy ("Said by Others"), and youthful relevance. Brands such as Sunsilk and Rinso demonstrate how stronger product superiority, desirability, and cultural relevance can improve competitiveness and drive sustainable growth.
2. A More Premium Portfolio
Premium segments now represent approximately 32% of the market and are growing nearly twice as fast as mainstream segments. More than 70% of the Company's premium business is winning, making premiumisation an increasingly important driver of higher-quality and more resilient growth.
3. More Online Business
Online continues to be one of the fastest-growing demand spaces in FMCG. The Company is building new demand-generation capabilities through social-first marketing, livestreaming, and affiliate partnerships, helping accelerate growth while deepening consumer engagement across digital channels.
These priorities are supported by stronger frontline execution, structural productivity improvements, and a winning culture across the organisation. During the year, the Company increased direct coverage, expanded assortment, and continued to improve customer service and in-store execution. Ongoing transformation across sourcing, manufacturing, and operating models is improving productivity, strengthening competitiveness, and creating additional capacity to invest behind future growth.
Forward Looking
“Looking ahead, we remain focused on delivering volume-led growth with modest margin improvement in 2026. While inflation related to Middle East-linked commodities is expected to remain elevated as we move into 2027, we will continue to respond through a balanced combination of pricing, structural savings, and disciplined investment choices. Our priority is to protect competitiveness, maintain consumer accessibility, and support the long-term health of the business. We are encouraged by the progress we are making.
Today, we have stronger brands, stronger capabilities, and a stronger business than we had a year ago. We remain focused on strengthening our portfolio, enhancing competitiveness, and delivering sustainable value for shareholders over the long term. As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen the business, we expect to provide a further update on our Foods business before the end of the year,” said Benjie.
