PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk has once again received recognition for its commitment to integrating sustainability principles into its business strategy and value chain across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) priorities.

The 2026 ESG Awards Ceremony, organized by the KEHATI Foundation

At the 2026 ESG Award organized by Yayasan Keanekaragaman Hayati Indonesia (KEHATI), Unilever Indonesia was named Best Issuer in the Capital Market category.

The award was accepted by Nurdiana Darus, Director of Communications, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Unilever Indonesia, during the award ceremony held in Jakarta on Thursday evening (August 6, 2026). This recognition reinforces the company's commitment to conducting business responsibly through the integrated implementation of sustainability principles across all business and operational activities.

Nurdiana Darus, Director of Communications, Corporate Affairs & Sustainability at Unilever Indonesia, said: “Sustainability has become an integral part of how we conduct our business. We are grateful to receive the award for the second time, having previously earned the same recognition in 2023. This award reflects our continuous efforts to deliver responsible, transparent, and sustainable performance, while contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and strengthening the ESG investment ecosystem in Indonesia.”

This award also highlights the company's comprehensive efforts to advance sustainability across its environmental, social, and governance practices.

On the environmental front, throughout 2025, Unilever Indonesia successfully collected and processed more than 80,000 tons of plastic waste, exceeding the total volume of plastic used in the packaging of products sold during the same period. Through a network of more than 5,000 waste banks across 50 cities and regencies, as well as nearly 2,900 refill stations, the company also utilized 3,044 tons of post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic in its product packaging. These efforts contributed to a 20% reduction in virgin plastic use compared to the 2019 baseline.

From a social perspective, Unilever Indonesia continues to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace. Currently, 43.2% of senior management positions are held by women, reflecting the company's commitment to diversity and inclusive leadership. The company also recorded zero work-related fatalities, underscoring its ongoing focus on occupational health and safety.

Meanwhile, to maintain product quality and consumer trust, all Unilever Indonesia factories have implemented the Halal Assurance System (SJH), and 87% of its food products meet the Highest Nutrition Standards (HNS) based on Unilever's internal standards and benchmarks established by the World Health Organization (WHO).

From a governance perspective, the company's ESG management is overseen by the Board of Directors, the Business Integrity Committee, and the Central Safety, Health, and Environmental Committee.

This strong governance framework has enabled Unilever Indonesia to maintain its Leadership in Corporate Governance rating for eight consecutive years, achieving a score of 111.13 in the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS). In addition, the company has recorded several other notable achievements, including an S&P Global ESG Score of 52, an IDX ESG Score of 18.21, and maintaining a Blue PROPER rating for all of its production facilities for three consecutive years.

“We believe that sustainability and business growth must go hand in hand. This award serves as a reminder that collaboration and consistency in delivering our sustainability commitments can create meaningful impact, not only for the company but also for society and the environment. Moving forward, we remain dedicated to strengthening our efforts toward sustainable and responsible growth,” Nurdiana concluded.
