These activities reflect Bango and Royco's continuous efforts to provide goodness through various innovations and programs; they boil down to a commitment to improve public health - especially for the younger generations - by providing opportunities to fulfill balanced nutritional needs. This event was also attended by the leadership of Unilever Indonesia, the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Lampung Province, and several other community leaders.
Amaryllis Esti Wijono, Director of Nutrition Unilever Indonesia, said: "This boarding school program, presented by Unilever Indonesia in collaboration with the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs, has been ongoing since 2019. It has reached more than 2,000 Islamic boarding schools and benefited more than 900,000 students/female students in Indonesia. This program includes various forms of education that encourage healthier Indonesian students and female students. Alhamdulillah, this time we had the opportunity to visit Islamic boarding schools."
"We believe that boarding school are educational units that have great potential to effectively familiarize the public about various healthy living behaviors through the peer-to-peer learning model. The intense interactions between students/female students who study and live in the boarding school provide excellent opportunities for them to model various positive behaviors, including the habit of consuming a healthy, nutritionally balanced foods," continued Amaryllis.
Related to this, in her speech, Hj. Siti Rumzanah, the Caretaker of the Roudlatul Qur'an Metro Islamic Boarding School and Chairperson of the Metro City Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management, stated: “For their efforts to improve all students' nutrition, especially those at the Roudlatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School, we would like to thank Unilever and the organizing committee. Of course, this is a positive step that has enabled both students and female students to receive fulfilling nutritional intakes.”
“So that we may continue, we need to understand children's growth and development stages so that they can learn well and comfortably in Islamic boarding schools. Therefore, these several activities today will hopefully provide benefits for the Roudlotul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School and also blessings for all of us.”
"Education on the importance of Halalan Thayyiban dishes, especially during the month of Ramadan, is the main issue conveyed in today's activities, which are joint efforts to realize healthy future generations full of maslahat. It is known that consuming food that is Halalan Thayyiban is one of the key benefits for all people. Halalan means meeting all halal requirements, from the food ingredients used to the way they are processed. Thayyiban is the goodness of balanced nutritional content needed to meet daily nutritional needs - which of course must also be prioritized as one of the important elements of the word Thayyib itself.
Especially during the month of Ramadan, Halalan Thayyiban food becomes a basic need and so fasting becomes more solemn and meaningful. For this reason, two of Unilever Indonesia's leading nutrition brands, Bango and Royco, conducted educational and cooking demonstrations for various Halalan Thayyiban menus with balanced nutrition according to the "Isi Piringku" guidelines.
These include fried chicken and egg stews which are not only delicious but also rich in animal protein, which is absolutely necessary for the body when fasting later. These activities also involved 30 female administrators of the Roudlatul Qur'an Islamic Boarding School in Metro Bandar Lampung, who are ready to disseminate the knowledge they have gained to the students and female students under their guidance to improve the nutrition of the boarding shool community as a whole.
For Bango, these activities are part of the "Sajikan Kehangatan Ramadan Dengan Lezatnya Semur Bango" campaign, during which various nutritious stews served using Bango soy sauce will strengthen the moments of togetherness that are very close to the atmosphere of Islamic boarding schools in the month of Ramadan, both at dawn and while breaking the fast.
As for Royco, these activities continue the Program Royco Nutrimenu Boarding School, which have been implemented since 2019. They take the form of peer-to-peer education and a 21-day movement for habituation to serve and consume balanced nutritious food, which consists of balanced nutrition according to the "Isi Piringku" guidelines from the Indonesian Ministry of Health and inspiration for balanced nutritious recipes in the Royco Nutrimenu style.
This year, the Royco Nutrimenu Boarding School Program received full support from NU Care-LAZISNU based on a common mission to promote nutrition education to the younger generations, especially female students, so that one day they become healthy, smart mothers, and are able to improve both their and their families’ health later.
In addition to education and cooking demonstrations, Bango and Royco also provided donations in the form of products and tableware for residents of the Roudlatul Qur'an Metro Islamic Boarding School.
"Insha Allah, all of these activities and assistance will be able to inspire the administrators, younger students and female students to always serve and consume Halalan Thayyiban food, especially during the month of Ramadan, when the fulfillment of balanced nutrition, Insyaa Allah, can make worship more solemn and meaningful," concluded Amaryllis.
