Pepsodent Supports Indonesia’s Dentistry Progress Through Foril X 2011

The event also featured dentistry speakers and practitioners from local and overseas. Pepsodent has supported the activity for ten times, by giving award for science competition dubbed Pepsodent-Foril Award in five categories, namely Research, Case Report, Reader’s Review, Scientific Poster for Dentist and Dental Students.

Thus, Indonesia has not developed the research climate yet. As a result, Pepsodent Foril Award at the Foril X emerged as Pepsodent’s awareness to improve research climate in Indonesia that expected may creates beneficial research for the development and improvement of dentistry faculty, which lead to upgrade dental and oral healthiness in Indonesia.

The strong support by Pepsodent is receiving positive appreciation from Foril X Head of Committee Drg. Jeddy Sp.KGA. He said the cooperation between FKG Trisakti and Pepsodent has been running from first FORIL in 1984, which implemented into Pepsodent-Foril Award. This would be the first time for FORIL X to hold scientific poster competition for Dentistry Faculty students and had succeeded to lure bigger participants than previous FORIL. Drg. Jeddy Sp.KGA. hoped the synergy may generate positive results to encourage dentists and dental students to find any breakthrough in Indonesia’s dentistry.

Pepsodent Foril Award is participated by tens of participants, which team of judges is consisting of three competent judges, including Indonesia Executive Board Dentists Association (PB PDGI) Head drg. Zaura Anggraeni, MDS. As much as 79 scientific papers are selected in every category, which consisted of 16 papers of Research Category, 25 papers of Case Report Category, 14 papers of Reader’s Review and 24 scientific papers of Poster Category.

One of Pepsodent Foril Award 2011 winners is Unair Surabaya FKG Lecturer DR Haryono Utomo, Drg, Sp.Ort. DR Haryono won in Research Category, by carrying a theme ofRapid Decrease of Allergic and Neurogenic Asthma Biomarkers After The Assisted Drainage Therapy. Through the research, DR Haryono is found new method calledAssisted Drainage Therapy, which combining to clean tartar and its roots with massaging gum. The technique is considered may lower asthma attack for children. The research showed that dental and oral healthiness may influence the whole body health.

Besides held the international scientific forum, Foril is also held exhibition of national and internasional-scale dental equipments and materials, which participated by local and international companies. The event is expected may participate by 2,000 dentists, dentistry faculty students, nurse and dental technician from local and overseas. This year, the event may be participated by 10,000 dentists. Pepsodent is committed to oral and dental healthiness and appeared as the leading brand in toothpaste industry. FKG has asked Pepsodent to become permanent partner in Foril exhibition.
